The Board of Trustees is a subcommittee of the Vestry of St. James Episcopal Church. The Rector of the church appoints the members, and each member serves a three-year term. The Board meets every month, with the exception of June and July, with additional meetings as needed. The Rector, Head of School, Bookkeeper, Advancement Director, and Parents Guild President also serve on the Board as non-voting members.
Jill Couvillon and her husband, Clay, have been attending St. James Episcopal Church since their son, Townes, started school at St. James. She currently works for Arthur J. Gallagher in a sales and risk management position. Jill and Clay have two children, Townes at St. James, and Barrett at Episcopal.
Andy McCall and his wife, Julie, are lifelong Episcopalians. They are long term members of St. James church and have served the church in several capacities. Their son Everett is entering kindergarten this year. Andy works for Beau Box Commercial Real Estate.
Will Eglin is the Chief Financial Officer of GMFS, a Baton Rouge based residential mortgage company, and a CPA. He is a native of Baton Rouge and a graduate of LSU. Will and his wife, Kasey, are members of First United Methodist Church where he serves on the Finance Committee. Will and Kasey have three children, Porter and Merrill at the Day School, and Addison at Episcopal.
Nicole Brien is presently the Environmental Affairs Supervisor at Placid Refining. Nicole and her husband, Shane, have three daughters. Cate is a graduate of The Day School and is now in ninth grade at Episcopal. Ella and Sadie currently attend The Day School and are in the fifth grade. Nicole also volunteers as a Children’s Church teacher during the 9:00 a.m. service at St. James.
Shannon Blakeman is a partner with CARBO Landscape Architecture. He is a registered landscape architect, and he has worked with St. James on the campus master plan and various landscape improvements. He and his wife, Haley, have two children, Ava a St. James graduate, and Hayes, who is in the fifth grade at St. James.

Barbara is a lifelong parishioner of St. James and attended the Day School. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Baton Rouge and sits as secretary of the Board of Directors to the Leadership Ascension Foundation. Barbara is married to Mark Garon; one of their four children currently attends the Day School.
Erik Piazza is a partner at the law firm of Phelps Dunbar LLP and president of The Baton Rouge Growth Coalition. Erik and his wife, Sarah, have two children, Daniel and Matthew. Daniel is in 5th grade and Matthew is in 3rd grade at St. James.
Preston Q=Petersen and his wife, Gretchen, have three wonderful children. Thomas, Adele, and Helen attend the Day School. The Q=Petersen family attend both St. James Episcopal and St. Aloysius Church. Preston is the Director of the Team Automotive Group and has served on numerous boards throughout the community.
Mike Rabalais and his wife, Amy, have been attending St. James Episcopal Church since 2010. Mike attended St. James Episcopal Day School and Episcopal High School where he graduated in 1997 along with Amy. Mike has served on the Associate Vestry and is currently an usher during church services. Mike and Amy have two children, Pace and Marjorie, who attend St. James.
Nancy Roberts and her husband, Trey, are parishioners of St. James Episcopal Church, where they are active volunteers. Nancy has served on the Associate Vestry, and is currently a member of the Children’s Council and a Sunday School teacher for children ages nine to twelve. She and Trey are the parents of three children, Laurel, Frances and William, who all attend the Day School.
Camile Silva and husband, Chad Prather, have two daughters, Stella (3rd grade) and Vivian (1st grade), who happily attend the Day School. Camile is a licensed architect and owner of C.SILVA Architect, LLC and has most recently assisted on project reviews for St. James Kilgore Hall improvements.
Leslie Spencer, is a native of Baton Rouge, La. A past Physics Researcher and STEM Educator, Leslie is the Founding Assistant Principal of IDEA Innovation Academy and College Prepretory School. Her daughter, Elle Marie, is currently a PreK-4 student at St. James.
David and his wife, Anna Baker Trimble (a Baton Rouge native), are parishioners of St. James Episcopal Church. Their two oldest children, Margaret (3rd grade) and George (Kindergarten), attend the Day School. Their baby sister Honey was baptized at St. James. Before moving to Baton Rouge with his family in 2016, David was active in the Austin, TX non-profit and tech start-up communities.
