St. James Episcopal Day School will offer a two-week academic camp for current St. James students!
- The camp is only offered to current St. James students, who will be entering Pre-K 4 through 6th grade.
- Camp selection is based on the grade your child will enter in August 2017.
- The camp will be held June 19-30 (M-F) at 8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
- Early dropoff will be held from 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. for a total of $30.
- The total camp cost is $350 for two weeks.
- You must sign up for the total two weeks. If signed up for two weeks and can only attend one week, you must pay for the
- two week session.
- All academic camps must have an attendance of at least 10 students for the session to run. Camp spots are a first come first serve basis. Another section may open based on enrollment.
- All summer packets and assignments will be completed during the two-week academic camp.
- Lunch will not be provided.
With a different nursery rhyme every day, rising pre-kindergarten 4 children will be immersed in rich rhyming literature. The children will explore each rhyme, while incorporating art, science, math and cooking as we lay the foundation for an easy transition to pre-k 4!
Bone up on your reading and math skills, while taking a tour through the Jurassic Jungle. This camp is for fearless adventurers who are ready to tear into Kindergarten. Follow our rambunctious reptiles on their mighty mission to sharpen their academic skills, and learn all about these prehistoric pals along the way!
Your child’s favorite books will come to life in this camp designed to help rising first graders with their transition to the structures, routines, and academic challenges of first grade. Campers will get a jump start on first grade language and math skills through an exploration of favorite children’s books. Through integrated art activities, games, and technology, students will sharpen their academic skills, while having a blast with their friends.
Get ready for two weeks of summer camping fun! Upcoming second graders will participate in fun activities aimed to review skills needed to be successful in the second grade. Happy campers will stay active and engaged with camping themed reading, writing, math games, songs, crafts, and more!
Check off your child’s third grade summer school requirements in a fun, engaging environment. Your child will complete their summer reading and math requirements, while sharpening their skills for third grade. They will create their “All About Me” poster, while exploring the extraordinary world of Judy Moody. We will record our journey using various art projects, technology and games. At the end of this camp, your child will be ready to make a big splash into third grade.
Got summer reading and math requirements? Look no further! Your fourth grader can complete their summer reading and math assignments in an exciting two-week camp setting based on real world application and technology. Rising fourth graders will receive math instruction, refresh their reading comprehension strategies, and brush up on their writing techniques. Just bring your choice of summer reading from the book list (given out in May), and get ready to dive deep into comprehension! Your child will review the skills that they will need to start fourth grade off with a BANG.
Beat the summer heat with fun projects, activities and ideas that spark learning! Your rising fifth grader will enjoy the benefits of working with a certified teacher to develop a love for reading! Knock out a required summer reading book and activity, while working in small groups. Improve reading abilities, and prepare for school in the fall.
Prepare to take on middle school by getting a taste of the “real world.” Get a job, receive a paycheck, and create and maintain a real-world budget. Through this exciting project, we will focus on problem solving strategies, while reviewing all operations with fractions, decimals, and percents. Students will develop and take home a “survival kit” of skills and strategies to help conquer sixth grade math.
