1. What do you love about St. James Episcopal Day School?
"I love how inviting St. James is, no matter what time a day you show up, whether for morning carpool, to drop something off or for a performance at night. Everyone greets you with a smile and a hello and is genuinely happy to see you. I love that not only do they know my child who attends school there, but his younger brother and both of us as his parents!
I love that everyday when I drop Henry off to learn, I know that he is truly loved as well."
2. Why did you choose St. James Episcopal Day School for your children?
"We chose St. James, because it was a smaller school with a lot to offer. Not only was it a blue ribbon school, but it offered a STEM lab, Spanish, art, music, physical education and most important Christian Education. Al went to an episcopalian school growing up, and attending Eucharist with his friends is still a favorite memory, and it was something that was important to both he and I. The entire atmosphere of St. James just drew us in, not only was it warm and loving, but the teachers hold high expectations academically. These were all things we knew our kids needed and were important to us."
3. In what ways have you seen your children grow in their faith as a result of their experience at St. James Episcopal Day School?
"There is nothing sweeter than an entire school coming together on Friday morning and singing at the top of their lungs "This Little Light of Mine." I think I tear up every Friday looking around seeing the 5th grade singing just as loud as the sweet pre-k kids. Henry is excited to be a part of it and loves to share stories from the bible that he has heard in Christian Education."
4. The St. James Day School tagline is “Excellence, Faith, Community.” How does your child experience excellence at St. James?
"Henry gets to experience excellence every morning when his foot steps out of the car. He is greeted by a team of the most excellent and hand picked teachers and staff. I truly feel that because they are striving for excellence, it makes all of the students at St. James do the same."
5. What would you tell another parent to encourage them to consider enrolling their child at St. James Episcopal Day School?
"I would tell them that not only is it the best education, but that we truly are a family. Henry and Davis have made so many new friends, and in return we have made so many new friends, friends that are like family to us. I have taught at other schools and I can assure you it's not like this everywhere. Choosing a school for your children is a big decision, but choosing St. James is the right decision."

St. James Stories
"Come to St James it is the most awesome school with an amazing science lab, playground and smartest teachers ever. I love that everyone knows who I am by name, and the big kids play with the little kids too!”
